In 1985, the Chick Corea Elektric Band started out as a trio. Chick with a myriad of keyboards and John Patitucci on bass and Dave Weckl on drums. Chick was already a legend and John and Dave were the hottest new players on the scene.

"The Keyboard gear I used at Elario's was extensive including the massive Synclavier. I had the idea that I would "orchestrate" the music and still keep it a trio. I soon started adding more musicians to the band so I could concentrate on fewer chores while playing - until the Elektric Band was a quintet and I was down to a Fender Rhodes and a piano (Paint the World).

Playing a set of new tunes, Chick assembled some of his closest friends for this recording, including luminaries like Stanley Clarke, Bunny Brunel, Tom Brechtlein, Flora Purim and Airto Moreira – plus his wife Gayle Moran on vocals.
