Miles has fathered a half-century of musicians who came through his great bands. Jack and I played in Miles transitional quintet from '68 to '71, along with Dave Holland and Wayne Shorter. Eddie played with Miles in the late '60s. So the three of us each have our own particular love for Miles and what he did for us and all of the music world.

This is the one set we played together as a trio. It was a thrilling moment for me, especially since I hadn't made music with Jack for such a long time -- too long. The natural tendency was to return to themes from Miles -- two which he composed. "Solar" and "Walking".
